American citizens visiting or residing in Iceland should note that the emergency number for the Icelandic police, rescue, and fire departments is 1-1-2.

If you are an American citizen in Iceland in need of emergency assistance outside of regular business hours (including weekends and holidays), please call the Embassy duty officer at [011] 354-693-9207.

If you are an American citizen in Iceland in need of emergency assistance during regular business hours (8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.), please call the Embassy main number at [011] 354-562-9100 and ask the operator to connect you to the American Citizen Services Unit.
