Creighton University in the United States has decided to grant Ragnheiður Á. Gunnarsdóttur a fellowship.  The fellowship offer was for tuition and a generous stipend of $10,000.  According to Ragnheidur she said that decision was taken because of the economic situation in Iceland.  She doesn´t know how many applied for the grant but says she is honored to receive the fellowship and looks at it as an incredible opportunity. 

Ragnheidur says:  “This has been an adventure.  I got to know that I had received the fellowship the 1^st of July and I am going to the U.S. the 15^th of August so I’ve been very busy getting everything ready.”  She will stay in Omaha for the next two years and concentrate on her Masters in International Relations.  She already has a degree in business with focus on international marketing. 

Charge d'Affaires a.i. of the U.S. Embassy in Iceland, Neil Klopfenstein gave her a certificate as a confirmation of the fellowship.
