U.S. Embassy Reykjavik Hosts Student Group

U.S. Embassy Reykjavík's Economic and Political Sections hosted a group of students from Bifröst University on October 24 for an introduction to the embassy's work and U.S.-Iceland relations.  After a briefing by Economic & Commercial Officer Fiona Evans and Political Officer Brad Evans, the students participated in a lively question-and-answer session that touched on economic and trade links, climate change, Icelandic participation in NATO peacekeeping, and the war in Iraq, among other topics.  Deputy Chief of Mission Neil Klopfenstein and Assistant to the Defense Attaché CDR Patrick Geraghty, U.S. Navy also joined the group for the Q&A period.

The U.S. Embassy is always happy to meet with student groups and other organizations interested in discussing U.S. policy, U.S.-Iceland relations, or other topics.  For further information please visit our Embassy Speakers Program web page http://iceland.usembassy.gov/speaker.html or contact reykjavikpublicaffairs@state.gov.
