Amb. Arreaga on Friday, March 1, hosted in his home the winners of the English-language short story contest sponsored by FEKÍ. The twelve winners emerged from a contest in which students from 14 schools from all parts of Iceland participated.

Amb. Arreaga recently presented Alcoa Fjarðarál CEO Janne Sigurðsson with a congratulatory letter from Sec. State Clinton in honor of Sigurðsson's Stevie Award as outstanding female CEO of the year.

Amb. Arreaga visited the Westman Islands January 23, to join the ceremony commemorating the beginning of the eruption on Heimaey. The Amb. attended a short service, a torchlight procession, and spoke about the events of 1973.
